I want to be happy
Many philosophers tried to describe happiness and had different opinions about how to reach the state of happiness. Some of them referred to happiness as a state of inner peace while others referred to it as a state of deep satisfaction. Some of them related happiness to spirituality while others said that you could be happy without a reason.
2knowmyself is not a place for philosophy or theories but it’s rather a place for practical people who want to achieve practical goals.
I really wonder why people had such a hard time describing happiness while there is a practical and logical description for it, happiness is the absence of bad emotions.
What is happiness?
Happiness is the absence of bad emotions. If you are feeling stressed then you can’t feel happy, if you are feeling depressed then you can’t feel happy either.
No one can experience two different feelings at the same time and that’s why the real path to happiness is to get rid of all of your unwanted emotional states like stress, sadness, anxiety and fear.
It’s up to you to decide how you’re going to deal with such emotions. Whether you’re going to learn how to deal with these emotions or whether you are going to change the external factors still in the end the result will be the same. You just need to know how to deal with your bad emotions and eliminate them in order to be happy.
Face your fears and deal with them, learn how to control your stress and learn how not to worry about the future and you will become happier. It doesn’t matter whether you are going to use spirituality, a certain religion or your own system of beliefs, all that matters in the end is to deal with such emotions in order to find happiness.
Happiness definition is not universal
I have a friend who enjoys nothing more in life than sitting alone in a calm place. Another friend of mine feels extremely happy when he meets new people and a third friend of mine feels happy when he succeeds in life.
The one mistake many people do when they try to define happiness is that they think that there is a universal definition for it while in fact my happiness is different from your happiness.
In order to be really happy you need to be able to understand how your own happiness system works then work on providing yourself with the things that make you happy.
We, pursuit-of-happiness readers, don’t have the word “acceptance” in our dictionaries. We can’t accept to be sad nor accept to live our lives feeling broken, down or depressed.
Yes we may feel bad from time to time but our attitude remains the same. We will create our own happiness with our own hands in spite of all of the obstacles we face in our lives.
Just like everything we fight for is important to us, happiness is one of the most important things in our lives. We will either get it or keep fighting for it until we get it, we don’t have other options.
